A new business locally has set the date for its debut in Aiken Towne Park, located on the former site of the Aiken Mall.
The grand opening of Chicken Salad Chick is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, according to a post that appeared Monday on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
There will be giveaways of chicken salad, tumblers, tote bags and hip bags April 24-27.
Augusta-based Southeastern Development Associates announced last August in a news release that Chicken Salad Chick and Tropical Smoothie Cafe were “committed tenants” for the first two new buildings under construction in Aiken Towne Park.
Southeastern is spearheading the redevelopment of the former Aiken Mall site.
Chicken Salad Chick’s regular operating hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

There will be 12 different varieties of chicken salad on the eatery’s menu. Pimento cheese, egg salad, broccoli salad, pasta salad, soup and more also will be available for purchase.
Atlanta is the headquarters for the Chicken Salad Chick fast casual restaurant chain and its franchise business.
There are more than 250 Chicken Salad Chick restaurants in nearly 20 states, according to chickensaladchick.com.
