“Our grand reopening will be April 1,” said Jamie Williams, who founded Iron Gate with her husband, James.

Iron Gate formerly was based at 368 Park Ave. S.E., which had been its home since the spring of 2021.

“Our landlord told us up front that she eventually would be redoing the building and we would have to move, so we had kind of been looking around,” Jamie said. “We’ve done candle-making classes with [owner] Bobby Ard at Beyond Bijoux, and she’s got the perfect space. We talked about it, and it just looked like it was going to be a great opportunity to move in there with them.”

The Williamses launched Iron Gate Candles in 2017. Their products include handcrafted natural soy candles, room sprays, plant-based soaps, bath bombs and lotions.

The couple sold them online and at various markets and events before opening the brick-and-mortar Iron Gate location on Park Avenue.

Beyond Bijoux shoppers will be able to watch the Iron Gate owners making candles, Jamie said.
