The Peach Belt Conference has announced the bracket for the upcoming baseball tournament, which will begin May 5.
USC Aiken (30-20, 20-10 PBC) will be the No. 3 seed and will compete at Young Harris for this portion of the tournament.
The opening weekend of the event will be played at two sites and hosted by No. 1 seed Georgia Southwestern and No. 2 seed Young Harris. The 4, 5 and 8 seeds will play at GSW with the 2, 3 and 7 seeds at YHC. Each site will be a four-team double-elimination bracket with two games on Friday, three on Saturday and one or two on Sunday. The remaining teams from each site will then meet for a best-of-three championship series May 12-13. This format mirrors the NCAA regional format.
Young Harris will take on No. 7 North Georgia in the first game of the tournament at 2 p.m. Friday. USCA will square off against No. 6 Lander at 6 p.m.
The Pacers dropped the series to the Bearcats over the final weekend of the regular season. The Bearcats won the first two games of the series, 9-6 and 10-6, before the Pacers picked up a 4-3 win on Senior Day.
This marks the first time the Pacers will square off against Lander in the PBC Tournament since 2017 at Francis Marion. That year, USCA bested the Bearcats 7-2 in the first day of competition.
