WOW Garden Tour

Five featured gardens on the Women of Woodside Garden Tour are at the homes of, back row, from left Charlene Harris and Karen Sherman; and front row, from left, Jodi Knott and Mary Metz. Flo Holford is not pictured.

Now that winter is over, it's time to get outside and enjoy the garden.

The Women of Woodside will hold its Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8. The rain date is June 15.

This year's tour will feature five gardens.

Jodi and Joseph Knott’s garden is a combination of hardscape with colorful annuals and perennials. The hardscape includes a tranquil pagoda, bird bath, boulders and a meandering stone walkway.

With a view of Spalding Lake, Mary and Gene Metz’s garden is a delight. A steep slope was partially corrected by a tiered patio and randomly flowing water was directed to the small pond by a river rock stream.

Karen Sherman has renovated her backyard which included building a stone wall and installing flagstone walkways. A magnificent redbud provides shade, while a sun garden is a treasured addition.

Charlene and Jim Harris’s multi-level patios and waterfall and koi pond are a delight. Seasonal color in this yard is abundant throughout the year.

Flo and Doug Holford’s garden is made up of several separate areas that magically flow together. Flo’s artistic abilities are seen in the variety of pottery, trellises statues located throughout this garden.

In addition to touring beautiful gardens, visitors will be able to stop by the Artful Gardener Shop. The shop will be selling garden decor, bird houses, birder feeders, garden stakes, etc. There will also be vendors available for landscape design and maintenance questions. Plants and shrubs will be available for purchase.
