An Aiken man has been arrested and charged with murder. 

Aiken Department of Public Safety officers arrested Jemaurea Deonte Johnson, 20, of Aiken, on Tuesday, Lt. Jennifer Hayes said in a news release. 

Johnson and others shot and killed Kenneth Jones, 46, on Oct. 31, 2023 near the intersection of Sundy Avenue and Sumter Street, Officer Ann Mosley alleged in a warrant. 

Murder is a felony punishable by death or 30 years to life in prison

An Aiken County magistrate denied Johnson a bond, according to detention center records. 

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected to follow, according to the news release.
