The Aiken Standard is bringing the beach to downtown Aiken for its fourth annual Beach Music Blast on Friday, May 17.

The event will be held from 6-10 p.m. at the Newberry Street Festival Center, and will feature South Carolina party band The Swingin’ Medallions.

Food vendors will include Kono Pizza, Sticky Fingers Kettle Korn, Jamrock Caribana, K's Buffalo Wings, Ironhead BBQ and Fuse Mobile.

A Shag Dance contest will begin at 8 p.m. The first-place winner will receive a $250 gift certificate, second-place winner will receive a $150 gift certificate, and third-place winner will receive a $100 gift certificate. Gift certificates are provided by shag contest sponsor, Vikki's... A Unique Boutique.

No coolers, outside food or tents are allowed, but people can bring chairs.
